Giving the back garden a refresh

When I first came round to this garden in Crediton, the woodwork was looking a bit tired. The raised terrace runs along the back of the house, and the finish had gone quite patchy in places. The landlord wanted all the outdoor woodwork freshened up.

Before I got to the painting, I prepared all the woodwork. I cut back some of the ivy around the fences so I could reach the timber properly, then sanded all the wood and cleaned off the dust. There was a fair bit to get through, with the fencing, terrace, railings and decking all needing attention.
The landlord wanted all the woodwork freshened up, so I wanted everything clean and ready before starting with the paint. Once that was done, I used Ronseal paint to smarten it all up. It was nice to get the first bit of fresh colour on after all that preparation.
